Overview
Aangan is a demo portfolio website for an architecture and interior design studio that designs slowly, details obsessively, and builds spaces meant to age well. Built for design practices that want their website to feel as considered as their work, it leads with a full-bleed featured project and walks visitors through a curated selection of residential, hospitality and workplace spaces.
The challenge
Architecture and interior studios live and die by the quality of their visual presentation, yet most portfolio sites bury the work behind clutter, slow galleries, or generic templates that flatten the craft. The challenge was to create a digital space restrained enough to let the photography breathe, while still guiding prospective clients through the studio's range, philosophy and contact path.
What we did
We designed a quiet-luxury, editorial experience built around restraint — generous whitespace, large-scale typography, and Lenis-powered smooth scrolling that turns browsing into a slow walk through the work. A full-bleed featured project (Villa Aranya) anchors the hero, followed by a Selected Works gallery of six projects tagged by type, city and year, a Studio section that states the practice's philosophy, and a minimal contact path. Framer Motion choreographs deliberate, unhurried transitions so the architecture, not the interface, stays in focus.
Key decisions — and why
Full-Bleed Featured Project
An immersive full-screen hero built around a single featured project sets a gallery-grade tone from the first frame.
Selected Works Gallery
A curated walk-through of six projects tagged by type, city and year lets prospects grasp the studio's range at a glance.
Quiet-Luxury Aesthetic
Generous whitespace, editorial typography and restrained colour let the architecture and its light do the talking.
Lenis Smooth Scroll
Buttery Lenis-powered scrolling turns the page into a slow, deliberate walk through the studio's work.
