Overview

Angan (આંગણ — "The Courtyard") is a premium fine dining restaurant demo website built for Ahmedabad's upscale dining market. Designed to compete with the best restaurant websites in India — Indian Accent, Masque, Olive Bar — it features a dark moody cinematic aesthetic with warm gold accents, editorial typography, and deliberate slow animations that feel like a restaurant door opening.

The challenge

Most restaurant websites in Ahmedabad are either Zomato listing clones or generic templates. Premium restaurants deserve a digital presence that matches their physical experience — where the website itself feels like the first course. The goal was to build a demo that shows restaurant clients exactly what ₹8–12L agency-quality work looks like.

What we did

6-page React website — Home (cinematic hero, featured dishes, animated stats, staggered testimonials), full Menu page (editorial layout with featured dish strips, tasting menu CTA, category filter tabs), Reservations page (split layout, floating label form, success confirmation), Our Story (chef bio, philosophy sections), Gallery (masonry grid with lightbox and category filter), and Contact (private dining enquiry form, dark-tinted map). Grain texture overlay, candlelight glow gradients, and Lenis smooth scroll throughout.

Key decisions — and why

  • Cinematic Dark-Luxury Aesthetic

Dark moody palette with warm gold accents, 4% opacity SVG grain texture overlay, and candlelight glow gradients that remove the flat digital look.

  • Editorial Menu Layout

Full menu page with featured dish strips, tasting menu CTA, category filter tabs, and Cormorant Garamond typography at 80–120px.

  • Reservation System

Split layout reservation page with floating label form, date/time picker, and animated success confirmation.

  • Masonry Gallery with Lightbox

Category-filtered masonry grid gallery with smooth lightbox overlay for immersive food photography viewing.
